Comcast serves up 10G Ethernet, cloud services for San Francisco 49ers

Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) has won a new contract to provide the San Francisco 49ers a 10G Ethernet connection and cloud-based voice service, a deal that illustrates its growing presence in the sports team market segment, reports FierceCable. Besides network services, Comcast said its local CSN Bay Area TV station will build a 1,000-square-foot studio at the stadium that it will use for 49ers-related programming that will run on both CSN and its NBC station. The 49ers are just one of many teams to have signed up for the MSO's business services. It has signed similar deals with the Boston Red Sox and the Celtics. Read more
