Consumers hammer BT's TV service

British consumers are not very happy about the way BT (NYSE: BT) provides TV service, according to an analysis of complaints made to the UK's Office of Communications (Ofcom).

Ofcom said it got the lowest number of TV service complaints about Sky during the quarter from July to September 2013, while BT had the most and Talk Talk (LSE: TALK.L) the second most. For its part, Virgin Media (Nasdaq: VMED) generated "below industry average" complaint levels, an Expert Reviews story said.

BT also took a beating when it came to complaints about its fixed line telephony, reversing places with Talk Talk, which got the highest volume of complaints--mostly related to service faults and changing providers. Virgin Media again received fewer complaints.

Orange/EE generated the most complaints about fixed broadband service while BT and Talk Talk came in with more than the industry average. Virgin Media received fewer relative complaints than the other fixed broadband line providers.
