CWA alleges unfair tactics by Frontier

Tools

Not much has happened lately in the ongoing contract negotiations between AT&T and the Communications Workers of America union, but there is labor news on another front: A CWA local group in Pennsylvania recently filed a charge with the National Labor Relations Board accusing independent telco Frontier Communications Solutions of bypassing CWA bargainers and talking directly to union member employees during an ongoing contract negotiation.

Local union membership has voted down three separate tentative agreements that had been agreed to by union leaders and Frontier management, and Frontier reportedly had talked to union members about holding another vote on the most recent tentative agreement, among other allegations. Union members have been working under an expired contract since Nov. 30, 2008. About 400 union members are affected by the talks.
