CWA "Ready to Strike" ringtone ready for action

Tools

Members of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) have created a special song with an accompanying ringtone called "Ready to Strike."  The ringtone, originally designed for CWA Local 6222, has gone viral among union members and has proliferated through blogs and YouTube.

Created by a pair of CWA Local 6222 AT&T employees with the help of Toronto hip-host artist Riley Wallace, it was intended as a way to reach younger union members who had been with the company for less than two years.  The ringtone was originally crafted for a Local 6222 rally, but word quickly spread and Wallace recorded a new version without localized references three weeks ago

www,mp3newswire,net/stories/9002/iphone_att.html replace comos with periods. interesting article, AT&T does not want to lose thier golden egg "IPHONE" - its only best for them to give us union members a JUST contract . because we are the babckbone to wireless.

LOL again noting but management making these ignorant comments. I definitly do not sympathize with corporate America continuing to pad their pockets. Maybe you to DUMB to see the writting on the wall....America will side with hard working CWA members....not with corporate America. But again your to DUMB and out of reach with middle class America.

Citing the lord as intervening to solve CWA's dilema is in mindless. Can't believe the level here. Let me lay it out for you. CWA has to save face here and justify their existence. What will happen is the company will concede a minor issue and thet CWA will claim victory and agree to terms.

Good grief. Man, I can sympathize with some union issues - but I don't have the "company is out to get me" mentality. But if you're going to post a message on a public forum taking that position, please at least get your facts straight. AT&T's CEO was not paid 33 Billion dollars. Also, for the union people that think the company only exists because of craft, keep in mind that without managers you wouldn't have the Uverse boxes to hook up, the routers and switches to build a network, the software to manage those networks and ensure SLAs - you wouldn't even have a bill to send out to customers or be able to collect payments. Do you think that stuff happens by magic?

I've seen comments that the company wants to reduce union pay by 40% which is also absolutely not true. Also - even after the changes the company has proposed, AT&T union employees would have one of the best health care packages in the country.

If you want fight for your position that's fine, but at least be honest about it and get your facts straight. Negotiations will be a thing of the past a month from now. The impression that customers have from your public posts can last a lifetime.

Right we should put this in God's hands. Instead making wise cracks no bund intended, the CWA employees who see the abuse that goes on regarding the abusers of (FMLA) should note this to CWA. Just because we're with the union does not by no means mean we have to close our eyes to the members who do abuse the system. Anyone who comes to work to pass the time away and do as little as possible should not be allowed to abuse the system-which are things I have personally witnessed in my time within the company. Myself as well have not spoke up - but there is much fear to do this. Both ways, to report management on unfair practices that go on in the office and the abusers that goes on as well on a day to day basis. It is a very difficult thing to get people to agree on all these things due to how differently everyone of us thinks. My views regarding the union differ from many a person in our office; however it goes the other way towards management. I also believe it's due to greedy greedy people who look towards the almight dollar instead of the almighty God for there answers.

Everything it takes, including NOT serving the customer while you're on the picket line (don't worry, managers will again pick up the slack), and by cutting fiber optic lines to prove a point. Right?

BOTTOMLINE ATT MADE $13BILLION IN PROFITS PAYED CEO $33BIL.FOR DOING NOTHING..BUT SCREWING OVER UNION WORKER AND CONTINUING TO DO NOTHING AT CONTRACT TALK..THEY SHOULD BE ASHAME FOR NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR THERE EMPLOYEES. A FAIR CONTRACT THATS ALL WE WANT..AND IN RETURN LOYALTY TO THE COMPANY AND DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO SATISFY OUR CUSTOMER.

Is this what the members of the union are paying for? Apparently they have too much time on their hands, figuring out stupid games to play, instead of working on getting this contract signed! How embarassing! the CEO of AT&T must be truly embarassed! I guess he's at home right now figuring out a 'counter ringtone' to send out? possibly something like " take your job and shove it? You ain't workin here no more"

shows the mentality of the union! DUMB!

Excellent suggestions! Happy Easter

Southwestern Bell had the vision and the money to put the new at&t together. I aplaud the men and women who did that because our company earned nearly 13 billion dollars last year and looks to improve on that number in the years to come. At the same time you must recognise what Southwestern Bell did to put themselves in to this position. We were a service driven company filled with good people from top to bottom. Our employees represent our communities. SWB brought in hard working people from all ethnic groups and backgrounds. They trained us to perform our jobs and gave us an opportunity to earn good middle class incomes. In return they asked us to be honest and work hard to provide the best service we could. From the CEO down to the lowest position in this company, that should be our goal. There are thousands of men and women who have elevated their families lives through SWB. Generations of men and women put their children through college and brought new faces to middle class and even the upper class. SWB can take some credit for this. We need to look at the big picture. Look what Walmart has done to America. They put small companies out of business and they eliminated the textile industry in this country. Sure you can buy products cheaper from communist countries with child labor and human rights violations. This will improve the bottom line long enough to make a few people rich. Eventualy there is a down side. The middle class of America are what drive our prosperity. You need to have a population of people who can afford to buy goods and services or you will eventualy bankrupt yourself. It's an investment in the future to pay a little more for an American worker. It pays off in the long run. I hope and pray that we can settle this without a strike. I hope every one who reads this will do the same. Both sides seem to be dug in to their positions and we don't have facts from either side as to what those positions might be. I ask that every one who reads this will pray for a just solution to this situation. Please ask everyone you know to do the same. This weekend is a time when many of us turn our focus on our faith. Trust in God and pray hard. Just imagine every employee from top to bottom of at&t praying for a just solution. That would be millions of prayers. Lets all stop stressing our families from both sides and put this in Gods hands.

Yawn

The ringtone sounds like crap!

Is CWA on crack !!!!!!
I think they should spend more time Thinking on ways to get rid of the Fake Medical Leave Abusers(FMLA)... SO that we ( the employees that do like to work and are not lazy) have less pressure on our sales, because the company expects us to sell more to cover those losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!INSTEAD OF THAT STUPID RINGTONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
