Deutsche Telekom hit by data trade scandal

Deutsche Telekom has had a tough summer. First, it was caught in a scandal involving spying on its own executives and board members. Now the German telecom is embroiled in a scandal involving the sale of its customer data to third parties.

The worst part - aside from the obvious privacy issues - is that the telco appears to have been unaware this was happening at one or more of its call centers. German public radio this week identified DT's Bremen call center as the center of the sales. DT said the call center had access to only half its 30 million-customer database.
