Dish re-loads after feeling competitive heat

Tools

Dish Network CEO Charles Ergen, who also controls EchoStar Communications, the firm from which Dish was spun-off, has taken a more active interest in Dish's telecom strategy. He says the company missed the boat last year by not keeping up with high-definition programming launches that other TV service providers were pursuing.

Dish can benefit from being AT&T's only satellite re-sale partner going forward, but it is clear the company also needs a more aggressive strategic push.
