DT maintains positive outlook

A Deutsche Telekom executive said at an investor conference in New York that the German telco is weathering economic troubles fairly well. It's secret? It is getting a boost from many of its mobile areas, which, come to think of it, should be something that most big wireline-wireless telcos can count on. But, its confidence also may illustrate how much worse things are in the U.S. than in Europe, where several major carriers, with the exceptions of BT and Telecom Italia, look to be in pretty good shape right now.

Ongoing strong IPTV growth has fed DT of late as well. Can it count on maintaining a strong pace? DT and its observers are celebrating the fact that DT has not had to make any adjustments to its outlook, so let's hope for their sake that they don't regret the celebration later.
