EoC player Aktino hires Martin as new CEO

Aktino, one of the vendors in the burgeoning Ethernet-over-copper market, has hired Lonnie Martin, former White Rock Networks CEO and ADC Telecommunications executive, as its new CEO. Martin replaces Bruce Kimble, who has left the company.

Aktino competes with Hatteras Networks, Actelis Networks and Adtran in an EoC market that seems perpetually promising as a solution for telco with numerous copper-connected buildings in their regions. AT&T and Verizon reportedly have made commitments to the technology, though they haven't publicized their vendor choices.
