EXFO acquires fellow test vendor Navtel

EXFO, a vendor of telecom testing equipment, has acquired Navtel Communications, a maker of VoIP and IP Multimedia Subsystem testing gear, for about $10.8 million. The acquisition augments EXFO's reach in a couple of cutting-edge technology areas, but it also helps EXFO scale further into the realm of the telecom industry's biggest test and measurement names, including Spirent Communications, Tektronix, Agilent Technologies, Ixia and Anritsu. EXFO said Navtel has key relationships with several network equipment vendors and service providers.
