FairPoint brings wholesale E-Line service to northern New England

Tools

FairPoint Communications (Nasdaq: FRP) is offering up its suite of wholesale Carrier Ethernet E-Line services for Northern New England-based service providers.

Leveraging its fiber-based VantagePoint core IP/MPLS network, FairPoint will extend its E-Line services to wholesale customers residing in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Interested service providers will be able to purchase FairPoint's suite of Ethernet services, including Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL).

At a time when its traditional landline voice service continues to decline in its New England region, Fairpoint's wholesale service expansion, including its aggressive wireless backhaul drive, could provide that new necessary revenue boost they will need to boost their own revenue base.
