Fashion house selects CenturyLink to improve network, add in-store Wi-Fi

Fashion house BCBG Max Azria Group has tabbed CenturyLink to connect more than 400 retail boutiques with a fully managed and monitored VoIP network and in-store Wi-Fi service for shoppers.

The deal is intended to improve business efficiency for the company and improve the shopping experience for customers, the fashion house said in a press release.

"Our old network experienced downtime and outages that frustrated our customers. The retail networking solution from CenturyLink is robust, reliable and fast, bringing BCBG's technology into the future (where) strong IT infrastructure from CenturyLink means our store associates are free of cumbersome old technology and can spend more time focusing on customers," said Nader Karimi, BCBG's CIO.

As part of the deal, BCBG will install in-store hotspots to create "a more engaging and interactive shopping experience," the press release said.
