FCC finally denies Orbitcom forbearance request

The Federal Communications Commission took a year to deny the forbearance request of South Dakota telco Orbitcom, despite the fact that the telco had submitted a short petition that didn't offer rate information and other data the FCC usually requires to rule on such requests. The lengthy wait is garnering attention not because of the denial, but because it took so long despite the lack of info. The FCC has come under fire for its forbearance consideration process, which in the past has allowed requests that the FCC didn't rule on by deadline to be approved automatically.
