Four G.hn chipsets prove interoperability in Geneva plugfest

Tools

The results from the latest G.hn plugfest in Geneva are in and four vendors--Lantiq, Marvell Semiconductor, Metanoia and Sigma Designs--proved that their silicon products are interoperable.

Conducted in Geneva by the HomeGrid Forum, the Broadband Forum and the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), the test was run with the goal of verifying that the new G.hn home networking standard is ready to be incorporated into commercial products.

Matt Theall, president of the HomeGrid Forum, not surprisingly, said that "G.hn is already a reality, with silicon now ready for deployment."

In addition to another round of G.hn plugfests that will run throughout 2011, HomeGrid Forum has established an accreditation program with TRaC.
