France Telecom confirms Nordic deal interest
France Telecom is considering possible acquisitions that could expand its reach into the Nordic region, but is in "no hurry," according to comments made to The Financial Times and confirmed by the Associated Press. It was initially reported this week by French newspaper Le Figaro that France Telecom was consider a $54 billion bid for Sweden's TeliaSonera, but an executive at the French incumbent telco said its interest in the region extends to TeliaSonera, Norway's Telenor and other companies in the region.
