Frontier pumps $14 million into its Wisconsin broadband network

Frontier (NYSE: FTR) appears to be sticking to its promise to expand broadband access in the rural territories it gained through its purchase of Verizon's lines in 14 states by revealing that it invested over $14 million to expand broadband in Wisconsin in 2010.

By completing this investment, Frontier said that an additional 15,000 Wisconsin homes were able to get DSL-based broadband as of January 2011 in 15 communities.

But broadband was only one part of the whole upgrade story in Wisconsin.

Similar to other markets such as West Virginia, Frontier deployed a network backbone to support consumer broadband, voice and business customers.
