Frontier taps Paul Quick to head up Connecticut operations, progresses with AT&T wireline acquisition
Frontier Communications has named Paul Quick as the senior vice president and general manager of its Connecticut operations in anticipation of completing its pending $2 billion acquisition of AT&T's Connecticut wireline business and statewide fiber network.
AT&T's existing fiber network in Connecticut will be used to provide services to a mix of residential, business and wholesale service provider customers. Frontier also will gain a larger foothold in the terrestrial video services market by acquiring AT&T's (NYSE: T) U-verse video and satellite TV customers.
Quick most recently served as the senior vice president and general manager of Frontier's Pennsylvania operations. His position will be assumed by Quick's colleague Elena Kilpatrick, who has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the Pennsylvania operations.
Based in Frontier's state headquarters in Hartford, Quick will oversee field operations, residential and commercial sales and all other elements that impact customer service in Connecticut.
He comes to the position with plenty of management and business development experience.
Before coming to Frontier in 2012, Quick was the president of CSS Industries' Paper Magic Group, where he was responsible for overall business strategy, product development, sales and marketing and profit & loss for Paper Magic's social expression products. Earlier, Quick was vice president and general manager for the Walgreens' team for Hallmark Cards, leading the group that supported Hallmark's third-largest customer.
Once the deal gets approved by the Connecticut Public Utility Regulatory Authority and the FCC, Connecticut will join New York and Pennsylvania as the telco's new East Region that will be headquartered in New Haven, Conn. Upon closing the deal with AT&T, Connecticut will be the largest of Frontier's 28 operating states.
