Hardware Corner: Paetec, Toshiba team up

Tools

Telecom service provider Paetec made is SIP trunking service interoperable with Toshiba's Strata CIX VoIP system for businesses, a move that will broaden Paetec's ability to support business and corporate customers. The move comes about two months after Paetec launched a managed router service for enterprises, and within a year after Paetec acquired PBX specialist Allworx, with an eye toward increasing enterprise market viability. The carrier's 39 soft switches all now deliver the Toshiba system's VoIP capabilities nationwide. Strata CIX users also gain ISDN-like features over a data connection without the need to buy separate services for voice and data, according to a report at TMCnet.
