Hawaiian Telcom names Scott Barber as its new COO

Hawaiian Telcom (Nasdaq: HCOM) on Wednesday announced that it has hired Scott Barber as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Set to begin on Jan. 14, Barber will oversee Hawaiian Telcom's Customer Operations, Technology, Sales and Marketing teams, and will report directly to Eric Yeaman, Hawaiian Telcom's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Barber is best known for his long-running tenure at SureWest Communications where he served as that telco's COO before it was acquired by Consolidated Communications (Nasdaq: CNSL) this July. After the acquisition closed he served as Consolidated's VP of Operations.
