Hesse left compensation behind at Embarq

Tools

Dan Hesse, who was CEO of independent telco Embarq before leaving in December to take over Sprint Nextel, was due to earn about $10.3 million from Embarq last year, but reportedly left much of it on the table. He left the company with about two weeks remaining in the calendar year. New CEO Tom Gerke, who had been CFO and then interim CEO after Hesse left, made about $3.3 million last year.
