Integra adds DDoS mitigation service to its growing security service arsenal

Integra is bolstering its growing security portfolio by introducing a DDoS Mitigation Service that it says can automatically monitor network traffic to detect and mitigate distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) threats at the network edge.

Leveraging Arbor Networks' technology, Integra will provide fully managed, off-premises protection for its customers' network infrastructure and online websites.

The timing of this new service could not be better as DDoS attacks on enterprises and small businesses are on the rise. There have been over 133 events over 100 Gbps take place this year, according to Arbor Networks' Q3 2014 ATLAS DDoS attack report.

Although Integra's DDoS Mitigation Service takes a cloud-based approach to detecting attacks, it also includes 24/7/365 management from Integra's network security experts to provide rapid response and mitigation of attacks as they begin.

One of the key value propositions of Integra's service is that unlike on-premise solutions it can isolate the malicious traffic without impacting customers' Internet bandwidth.

Similar to its other cloud-based services, Integra customers can bundle the DDoS Mitigation Service into existing service agreements with what it says is standard, predictable monthly pricing.

Cloud services have become a large part of Integra's service portfolio. In 2011, the company began using Palo Alto Networks' platform to deliver its Cloud Firewall Service offering and has continued to build its cloud portfolio with new elements.
