Integra becomes qualified voice, data service vendor for California's CALNET 3 program

Integra will give California state and local government agencies a new service option after securing a seat on the state's CALNET 3 contract as a Qualified Vendor of voice and data services.

Through the contract, which is overseen by the California Department of Technology Statewide Technology Procurement Division, Integra will be able to solicit government business via the CALNET 3 contract that provides next-gen telecom services to the state's local departments and agencies.

Awarded in Phase Two of the CALNET 3 initiative, Integra will offer its suite of Hosted Voice Services, MPLS and VPN data network services that it will provide over its metro and long-haul fiber network backbones.

Complementing its growing fiber network is a growing base of data centers.

The service provider plans to add four new data center connections in the Bay Area, bringing it to a total of 10 centers. This is part of a broader initiative to connect its fiber network into 62 data centers in 10 states to serve its growing base of business customers.

Overall, the state and local segment has become a key target for Integra as it expands its focus on medium and large businesses. Outside of California, the CLEC built a 75-site Ethernet network for the state of Oregon, for example.
