Integra Telecom adds fiber to over 50 more buildings across U.S.

Integra Telecom continues to expand its fiber drive into its network regions, funding 52 new projects to either expand existing sites or bring fiber to new sites alone in the month of August.

Included in Integra's 52 site expansion drive, 31 of the projects are centered on extending fiber into new buildings and 21 are to augment capacity of existing on-net building sites.

Delivering access speeds from 5 Mbps up to 10 Gbps, Integra added fiber to buildings located in the metro areas of Portland, Ore., Seattle, Phoenix, Boise, Sacramento, and Salt Lake City.

Fueled by its ongoing $52 million fiber network extension initiative, Integra Telecom has over 1,700 fiber-fed buildings and 5,000 miles of long-haul fiber.

With Ethernet and emerging cloud services being a large driver as Integra extends its reach further into the regional enterprise market, the obvious advantages it gains with these build outs is that it can provide a greater level of control over Quality of Service (QoS) that other service providers who have to exclusively purchase facilities from other service providers to reach their customer base.
