IntelePeer to incorporate Taqua's T7000 into its IP peering offerings

DALLAS--IntelePeer, a provider of cloud-based services to service providers, contact centers and enterprises, will leverage Taqua's T7000 Intelligent Switching System (T7000) for its suite of peering applications.

Through its SuperRegistry directory, which includes over 400 million telephone numbers and end point identifying addresses, IntelePeer has created an intelligent Media Peering Grid that directly transports over 20 billion minutes annually between wireless and wireline phones, and IP devices.

Having already deployed the Taqua T7000 in January, this is the second deployment IntelePeer has made of Taqua's T7000, with plans to buy purchase a number of other systems throughout 2011.

The deal with IntelePeer is significant to Taqua in that it illustrates how the vendor has continually expanded beyond its roots as a next-gen Class 5 TDM initially targeting rural independent service providers looking to replace their aging Class 5 switches.

What's made Taqua attractive to a larger audience in recent years is that its product can serve multiple functions, including as a media gateway, Class 4, Class 5, and/or wireless media gateway and wireless media gateway controller in a single chassis thanks to its system on a blade architecture.
