Interoute's Finnie again scolding vendors

Tools

Matthew Finnie, chief technology officer of European carrier Interoute Communications, is set to take the stage as a keynote speaker Thursday at the Ethernet Expo: Europe 2009 in London, and Light Reading Europe has a preview of the speech (LRE is affiliated with the event). Finnie plans to scold vendors over what he claims is unnecessarily complex management software for Ethernet systems. Finnie will urge vendors to stock to standard and keep it simple.

His strong opinions about the vendor community will not come as a surprise to those who remember that its was Finnie who last year (at the same event) blamed vendor marketing tactics and product agendas for the technology holy war that developed around provider backbone transport and transport-MPLS technologies. The guy sure knows how to sell a speaking engagement.
