ITC^Deltacom turns on the metro optical charm

Seeing a demand for more higher speed optical bandwidth from its wholesale customers, ITC^DeltaCom is extending the reach of its optical network service into a number of its Southeastern markets.

Delivered through its Interstate FiberNet carrier group, Deltacom will now offer a mix of GigE, 2.5 Bps and 10 Gbps optical wavelength services in various metro markets. Leveraging Infinera's ATN metro edge platform (a platform that will be publicly debuted at next week's SUPERCOMM show), Deltacom says the new metro services will complement its established base of wholesale collocation, metro SONET and long haul services.
