Ixia buying Catapult for $105 million

IP test system vendor Ixia announced it is acquiring fellow test firm Catapult Communications for $105 million. Both companies provide test solutions for wireline, wireless and converged networks, and the deal will enhance the combined firm's ability to address 3G and 3G network needs, the companies said.

The $9.25-per-share cash offer represents a 39 percent premium over Catapult's average share price in the last three months up until last Friday.
