Jamcracker keeps SaaS announcements coming

About 10 years ago, the telecom industry was enamored with the CLEC model (or at least anyone with money and time in a CLEC was), and ready for the next big thing in the service provider evolution. To many, that next big thing looked like the application service provider model, the concept of companies providing open development platforms and providing the resulting software applications over a network. A decade on, the term ASP (which in truth was not even new in 1998) has been supplanted by talk of software-as-a-service and cloud computing. It's a sector that has drawn active interest from the new Web giants like Google, Amazon and Microsoft, but one of the other recognizable names, at least to telcos, is Jamcracker. This company has partnered with telcos to delivery software-as-a-service applications for the last 10 years or so, and just announced its new Service Delivery Network XML toolkit.
