Juniper jumps into Ethernet switch game

Juniper Networks launched its new EX series of enterprise Ethernet switches, all of which run on the vendor's carrier-class Junos management software (Note that's Junos with an "s," not like the movie... or the goddess in Roman mythology).

The new launch takes a shot at Cisco Systems and other players in what is said to be a roughly $4 billion market. Juniper has had its ups and downs that last year, but its recent earnings report and this new product effort have the company looking aggressive.
