Level 3 gets ISO certification for security services in Latin America

Level 3 Communications' Latin American subsidiary Level 3 Argentina S.A. has achieved ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 Certification for its Advanced Security Testing (AST) services in the eight countries it currently provides services to business customers.

By gaining this certification, the service provider said it now has evidence-based benchmarks it can use to improve the delivery of AST services in its Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and United States operations.

The service provider gained this three-year certificate following an extensive review conducted by TÜV Rheinland, a provider of technical, safety and certification services, and DAKKS, an independent accreditation body.

Having this certification in hand will give Level 3 another weapon as it looks to strengthen its bond with existing and new enterprise customers in Latin America that need a third party for network security. It could be relevant to both Latin American and even U.S.-based customers that have operations in the region.

Latin America overall continues to be a key area of revenue growth for Level 3. During the third quarter, the service provider reported that revenues for the Latin America region rose 11 percent to $195 million.
