Level 3 Communications has put together the pieces of what will be the new management team once it closes its pending $5.7 billion acquisition of tw telecom later this year. The new team will include a collection of executives from both Level 3 and tw telecom.
Upon closing, the Level 3 executive management team will include: Jeff Storey, president and CEO; John Blount, regional president, North America and Asia Pacific (APAC); Andrew Crouch, regional president Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and global accounts management (GAM) division; Hector Alonso, regional president, Latin America; Anthony Christie, chief marketing officer; Jack Waters, chief technology officer; Harold Teets, chief information officer; Sunit Patel, executive vice president and CFO; Laurinda Pang, executive vice president and chief administrative officer; and John Ryan, executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary.
Larissa Herda, current CEO of tw telecom, will not be joining the combined company when the acquisition closes.
Blount, who currently serves as president and COO of tw telecom, will begin his new role as regional president of Level 3's North America and APAC regions. An 18-year tw telecom veteran, Blount will continue to serve as the integration team leader for tw telecom.
Current regional president, North America and APAC for Level 3, Crouch will become regional president of the service provider's EMEA and GAM division. Crouch has become a larger factor in Level 3 by successfully driving revenue growth in North America during the past two years.
Teets, who will become chief information officer, currently serves as senior vice president of information and network technologies for tw telecom. He will have responsibility for the global IT organization and its role in helping Level 3 to continue simplifying its operational environment and collaborating with marketing and network technology to new capabilities to support customers' network and service needs.

"The expanded Level 3 executive management team includes a committed group of leaders with the collective expertise to build the combined company and continue to grow our business, particularly in the enterprise market," Storey said.
Besides establishing the new management team, Level 3 plans to expand its core office locations in North America to include tw telecom's current Littleton, Colo. location and its operations center in O'Fallon, Mo. Level 3's core North American locations include Atlanta, Phoenix and Tulsa, Okla.
