Level 3 makes HD streaming Move

Level 3 Communications said it has teamed up with Move Networks to provide high-definition video streaming over the Internet. The arrangement is the latest step in the carrier's efforts to become a major player in content delivery network infrastructure, an area in which it has made several acquisitions.

Level 3 also acknowledged recently in its Q3 earnings report that it was struggling with the integration costs related to it aggressive M&A program in recent years. Meanwhile, there has been much excitement around the idea of HD Web video, but it's still early and some content players may not be completely on board. Along with the Move deal, Level 3 announced aggressive pricing and other solutions, so maybe it can kick-start the market.
