Level 3, Verizon focus on serving France-based MNCs
Set on providing a local look and feel, Level 3 will not only expand its service portfolio for France-based businesses, but also add associated sales and support resources in the country. From a network perspective, the service provider will increase its points-of-presence (PoPs) in Paris and the surrounding region while extending its core network capabilities to the regions in and around Lille, Lyon and Toulouse.
Companies based in France will be able to take advantage of a number of new services, including converged voice, VPN, high-performing websites, content distribution network (CDN) and managed DDoS mitigation, as well as collaboration services to customers throughout the country.
Verizon, meanwhile, has established a partnership with French-based alternative provider SFR Business Team to deliver business services to customers that are either based in France or have operations in the country.
Initially set on delivering MPLS-based virtual private network services, the agreement calls for Verizon to deliver global connectivity while SFR will provide in-country services.
Being able to access both in-region and global access service via a "single common interface" will provide simplicity for those MNCs that would prefer to deal with one service provider to broker their services.
