Level 3 Vyvx to distribute international feed for TV Azteca's World Cup coverage

Level 3 is going to provide Mexico's TV Azteca its Vyvx Solutions for the transmission of the upcoming World Cup soccer event feed from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to TV Azteca's teleport in Mexico City.

Through its partnership with Level 3, TV Azteca said it will be able to provide its customers with "uninterrupted access to every game." Level 3 will also manage encoding, decoding and switching equipment.

Vyvx Solutions is part of Level 3's Video Cloud Services, a full suite of IP-based video services designed to support content delivery throughout its life cycle, from signal acquisition to delivery to viewers.

While the financial terms of this pact were not revealed, this is another big win for Level 3, particularly as it looks to increase its Core Network Services (CNS) revenues and drive further growth in the Latin American market.

During the first quarter, the service provider reported that Latin America enterprise revenues jumped 12 percent to $189 million.
