Lightower ups capacity at Telx's New Jersey Colo site

Lightower Fiber Networks, a northeast U.S. metro fiber provider, is bringing new network capabilities to Telx's Delawanna Ave. colocation site in Clifton, New Jersey.

Along with providing additional network capacity to accommodate Ethernet, wavelength and dark fiber services, Lightower's expansion will also offer Telx's colocation customers routes from Delawanna Ave. to additional NJ and NY Metro data centers and financial exchanges.

What's significant about Telx's 100 Delawanna location is its close proximity to New York City. Located only 11 miles away from New York City, financial service companies that need low-latency bandwidth for trading purposes will now be able to not only lease space in private cages and cabinets, but gain access to more than 400 service providers and financial exchanges via one cross-connection. In addition, the service could resonate with service providers that want to expand their customer reach and optimize their network among various Points of Presence (PoPs).
