Lightyear employs XO to expand its nationwide network footprint

Lightyear Network Solutions (OTC BB: LYNS.OB) has struck a multi-year Carrier Services Agreement with XO to expand the nationwide reach of its Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and Ethernet Private Line (EPL) services.

By offering DIA and EPL services, Lightyear will enable businesses to transmit data between their respective locations at up to 10 Gbps speeds. In turn, Lightyear can up its competitive edge in larger business accounts that require the dedicated connectivity that an Ethernet-based DIA or EPL service connection can bring.

"Lightyear's increased presence across the nation, along with XO's improved provisioning systems, strong service level agreements (SLAs), and automated quoting engines, will help bolster sales moving forward," said J. Sherman Henderson, CEO of Lightyear in a release.

The latest network expansion is just one of many moves Lightyear has made to enhance its presence in the competitive telecom market. In addition to its latest agreement with XO, the service provider is also working with Sprint Wholesale and intimated that it will pursue further acquisitions of its own to enhance its service presence.
