Limelight expects 'high-end' results

Tools

Not long after being sued for patent infringement by Level 3 Communications, content delivery network provider Limelight Networks said that its fourth quarter 2007 revenue should end up at the high end of its previous outlook. That would put adjusted quarterly revenue in the range of $29.3 million to $30 million.

Silicon Alley Insider also reported a rumor Microsoft could be in position to acquire Limelight. Not sure how valid that particular rumor is, but with Level 3 and other network operators pushing into the CDN business and bandwidth optimization for content delivery at the center of the growing Web video and IPTV segments, it would not necessarily be surprising to see one of the CDN companies acquired.
