Logix thriving on high fiber diet for Texas, Oklahoma markets

Business services provider Logix Communications is, it says, successfully using fiber to strengthen its footprint in the Texas and Oklahoma markets.

The Houston-based company reported a record 95 on-net building additions in the second quarter of 2014 to bring the annual total of additions to 158 multi-tenant office buildings. In addition to wiring multi-tenant and multi-story office buildings, Logix provides Wi-Fi to common areas to create what it calls "Logix Smart Buildings."

The additions "speak volumes of our commitment to deliver the fastest Internet speeds to our customers" said CEO Matt Asmus, noting that the average building size is 200,000 square feet.

The company's success is part of an overall fiber push within the region, the Houston Business Journal noted, pointing to Alpheus Communications, Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) Business and enTouch delivering ultra-high-speed broadband to businesses and residences.

"Just as railroads created towns and economies and highways created towns and economies, now the Internet and the ability to have fiber--that's the revolution," Logic marketing director Andrew Gambini told the publication."
