LRG: First-quarter pay-TV subscriber growth was sluggish

It looks like the pay-TV industry lost momentum during the first quarter. According to Leichtman Research Group (LRG), 13 of the largest pay-TV operators grew video subscriptions by less than 10,000 customers in the first quarter, illustrating a large slowdown from the 250,000 added in the first quarter of 2014. On the telco side, Verizon FiOS (NYSE: VZ) and AT&T (NYSE: T) added 140,000 subscribers in the first quarter, a slowdown from the 251,000 added in the first quarter of 2015.
