While Masergy has been recently adding cloud-based services to manage web-based applications and network security to its service set, the Broadcore acquisition will allow it to add cloud-based unified communications services including call center, SIP Trunking, and custom integration capabilities that will be a good fit for its large multinational enterprise customers.

"The cloud communications market opportunity is expanding rapidly, and with this transaction, we can immediately offer these cloud solutions to enterprises on a global basis," said Chris MacFarland, CEO of Masergy, in a statement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Broadcore will continue to run as a subsidiary of Masergy. Following the completion of the acquisition, Broadcore's service platform will embedded into Masergy's MPLS network platform that can be used to deliver its voice, video and mobility offerings to its enterprise customers.

In addition to providing consistency for Broadcore's current customer base, Masergy's customers can now turn to the service provider for other cloud-based services that they may have had to get from another source.
