Netgear to acquire CP Secure

Tools

Netgear has announced that it will pay about $17.5 million to buy CP Secure, a company specializing in network security, web filtering and email security. Netgear may have been known more as a Wi-Fi and femtocell player to some, but as network security concerns continue to grow, the company is now augmenting its current wireline and wireless virtual private network security offerings with CP Secure's appliances. The new offerings could be particularly helpful for small and medium-sized businesses just beginning to tackle the growing security threat.
