Nokia Siemens to acquire Atrica

Nokia Siemens Networks has moved to acquire carrier Ethernet specialist Atrica, giving the joint venture mega-vendor a stronger foothold in one of the most dynamic wireline technology markets around. NSN has been hounded by poor performance and even an admission by the new CEO of Siemens that the German company was disappointed in the venture and might seek to sell its 50% stake.

Perhaps the acquisition is a sign that NSN isn't giving in to panic, and instead is intent on improving its market position and adding to its customer base.
