NSN revenues down, hit by exchange rates

Tools

Nokia Siemens Networks unveiled its third quarter earnings as part of its parent company's report, stating that revenue for the quarter dropped about 5 percent from the same quarter last year to about $4.76 billion. However, the company said that the dollar-euro exchange rate differences between this year and last year were largely responsible for the difference.

NSN also said that fall-offs in capital spending by European and Chinese carriers contributed to the slide. Spending in China, in particular, was down partly due to the nation's ongoing restructuring of its telecom industry players.
