NTT expands Enterprise Cloud IaaS offering

NTT Communications announced on Wednesday that its Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering, NTT Communications Enterprise Cloud, will now be available globally with data centers in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Asia Pacific region.

Enterprise Cloud, which originally launched in June 2012, has "seen strong interest from global enterprises who view [the product] as a flexible extension of their own data centers," the company said in a press release, adding the product allows clients to utilize cloud-based tools where they are most useful to them.

The company offered several examples of enterprises that have realized benefits while using Enterprise Cloud, including a global retailer which was able to migrate to a single information and communications technology (ICT) with 50 percent fewer network carriers, a manufacturer which was able to decrease its number of servers from 1,700 to 500 servers and 500 virtual machines and a media company which was able to reduce its overconcentration of data centers in one city.

"NTT Com understands the enterprise client, their struggles, goals and needs," said Motoo Tanaka, senior vice president of Cloud Services at NTT. "Being truly enterprise class is what makes NTT Com the leading partner of choice for client cloud transformation through comprehensive cloud lifecycle services."

NTT said the product would be offered in eight countries and nine locations by March 2013.
