NTT shuffles its top management team

NTT Communications, ICT service and the international communications business within the NTT Group, announced a realignment of the responsibilities of four members of the top management team.

Masahide Fujioka, the current head of Carrier Relations, Global Business and member of Global Network Integration Taskforce, will assume the position of NTT head of Infrastructure, Service Infrastructure.

Hideaki Ozaki, NTT's current head of Planning, Global Business and member of Global Network Integration Taskforce, will become head of Planning, Global Business, as well as head of Carrier Relations, Global Business and member of Global Network Integration Taskforce.

Toru Watanabe, who currently serves as NTT's head of Accounts 3, West Japan Sales Division, has been named as NTT's new head of Planning, Solution Services.

Finally, NTT has appointed Kouji Murakami as its head of Accounts 3, West Japan Sales Division, replacing Watanabe. Murakami currently serves as NTT's director, Service Development, Voice and Video.

These changes come at a time when NTT is growing its enterprise and data center businesses inside both its home market of Japan and in other Asia-Pacific and European countries. The service provider has also been growing its cloud services capabilities by purchasing other providers such as Virtela and RagingWire. 

While NTT did not reveal the reason for the management changes, it said that all appointments are effective as of June 20.
