NTT's Dimension Data takes another step into the clouds with OpSource acquisition

NTT Communications' (NYSE: NTT) subsidiary Dimension Data is enhancing its cloud services strategy by acquiring OpSource, an enterprise cloud company.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

When the deal is complete, OpSource will become part of Dimension Data's Dimension Data's newly created centralized Data Cloud Solutions Business Unit. The new unit will report directly to Dimension Data's CEO, Brett Dawson.

What OpSource brings to the NTT and DataDimension cloud portfolio are 600 enterprise, service provider, and a growing group of Software as a Service (SaaS) Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) customers. In addition, OpSource brings its IT integration experience, which is coupled with its suite of managed services, data center and storage and security services, to help enterprises and service providers move into the cloud.

While the deal is new, NTT have been working with OpSource on cloud service solutions since 2008 through its NTT America and NTT Europe units. These units will obviously be able to leverage and extend even more cloud services to their growing customer rosters.
