Oclaro debuts after Bookham-Avanex merger

Tools

Optical components companies Bookham and Avanex announced the completion of their merger, which was announced about three months ago, and changed the name of the newly-combined company to Oclaro. The company makes high-speed optical transceivers, tunable lasers, remote configurable add/drop multiplexers, and other components.

It will compete in a market that includes JDS Uniphase, as well as other firms that have grown larger through M&A, including Finisar and Opnext.
