ONT vendor TXP suspends operations

Tools

Optical network terminal vendor TXP reportedly has suspended operations and let most of its employees go. The move comes barely five months after the company merged with fellow GPON ONT vendor Cambridge Industries Group of China. At that point, it appeared as though the resulting firm, still called TXP, would try to get a seat at the table with carriers deploying GPON, in order to convince them to have their primary vendors use TXP ONTs.

But, last month, according to a report at Telephony, TXP received a default notice from one of its investors, YA Global Investments. The company's GPON vendor customers included Tellabs and Adtran, among others.
