Orange fans out its international Ethernet reach

Orange Business Services' new International Ethernet Link is a response to the growing need from Multi National Corporations (MNCs) to have Ethernet services that can connect to any of their diverse locations. This new Ethernet service, which it says will double the number of countries Orange Business offers Ethernet services to 32 countries, is supported by a next-gen Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) network. The new service incorporates four new functions: higher speeds, four classes of service with bandwidth management, service level agreements and custom support.

With International Ethernet link, an MNC can interconnect its main office, satellite offices and data centers via Ethernet connections. Current VPN customers can use International Ethernet Link as a separate high-speed core data network. What this means is an MNC can consolidate its IT operations and cut costs with a secure connection for their respective business voice, image and data flows.

Orange Business continues to gain momentum as a global Ethernet interconnection provider. To expand its global presence, Orange has been not only expanding its Ethernet presence through building out its own fiber network facilities, but also establishing network access and Ethernet-Network to Network Interconnection (E-NNI) agreements with service provider partners. And this work is paying off for Orange. According to a recent report by Vertical Systems Group, Orange ranks second on the Global Business Ethernet Services leaderboard.
