PacketExchange takes up residence in Telx's Ethernet exchange

PacketExchange, an Ethernet and IP network service provider, is the latest service provider to take advantage of the Ethernet exchange concept by joining Telx's Ethernet exchange. Set on expanding its Ethernet service reach into underserved metro areas, PacketExchange will join Telx's Ethernet exchange in its New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles data center locations.

In addition to enabling its enterprise customers to outsource network infrastructure and get connectivity to cloud service providers and PacketExchange's global Ethernet network, the service provider will leverage the Telx Ethernet Exchange to provide a single platform of direct connectivity to its network of service providers, global markets and SaaS solution providers.

Grant Kirkwood, Chief Technology Officer of PacketExchange, said they "can view the Telx Ethernet Exchange as an added local presence here in the U.S., rounding out our national footprint and enabling us to offer underserved geographic regions competitive access to global Ethernet services."

Following the early lead of its partner Neutral Tandem and early Ethernet exchange frontrunner CENX, Telx has continued to make progress with expanding its Ethernet exchange capabilities. Complementing its Ethernet exchange service presence in New York, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Telx has rounded out its U.S. Ethernet exchange coverage through an alliance with Neutral Tandem.
