Penn. residents criticizing Comcast cabinets

Tools

Some Pennsylvania residents are complaining about the deployment of unsightly, above-ground cable TV pedestal boxes near their homes by Comcast. The say the company should deploy its network electronics in underground vaults instead, as telco competitor Verizon Communications does with its FiOS gear. AT&T has been hit with similar criticism for deployment of large above-ground cabinets in Connecticut. Service providers probably think customers should just be thankful for the network capabilities the boxes provide, but it is becoming apparent that citizens want their broadband without having their views and their property aesthetics compromised.
